Have you ever compared your left eye to the right one??

Design and Art.......Art and Design....soul and heart....heart and soul......then why do we demarcate the boundaries between the two??

the creative mind seeks food for thought from its environment and translates it into an expression which may take the face of a 2-d plane or a 3-d structure...then would someone care to explain why is it not art when an architect manifests a building....and why is it not design when a sculptor carves a piece of stone......some people may argue that design is meant to be functional and that art allows more freedom of expression than design...but then i say isnt it your own choice on what medium you pick to communicate your ideas and thoughts?...we're all creative people at the end of the day...all artists are designers and all designers, artists....

enough serious talk...lets just forget these tags and simply use the power of our minds to fill the world with all things beautiful.......

~~beeep~~the pesron u'r trying to reach is currently unavailable...

.....beacuse that person is on a 10 day retreat called "Summer Magic" in a remotely tucked away heaven of a place near Bangalore, India which happens to be the Art of Living International centre....NO! I haven't been paid to write this.....

*for all those of you who do not know about the Art of Living Organisation, kindly google it
*for all those who know about it but are not a part of it, kindly search your nearest centre and enroll yourself for a course(highly recommended)
*for all those who have done some course once but are too lazy too move their bum(Like me) to go to Bangalore, take my word for it and go there once...Trust me,you'll thank me for it(...like i thanked my friend who literally dragged me there..hehe)
*and for all the losers who think its all crap...well i can only pity you...

soooo....coming back to "summer magic"...summer + magic...
it was 'summer'...but not like what we have here in North India...it was beautiful...rainy....green...clear blue skies....wind blowing in your face..vast landscapes..awe-inspiring views....you get the picture...
and it was indeed "magic"...the kind you can't see...but can experience...magic created by Sri Sri Himself and Dinesh and Bawa...
I haven't had a better vacation in years.....it was 10 days of pure fun. relaxation, adventure, self-exploration and rejuvination(yes they have a spa too)....problems, worries, tensions were alien words.....2000 youngsters from all over the country buzzing with enthusiasm...and I was one of them...we were in a world of our own..where nothing else could matter...

Coming back from that magical place, I'm a different person.....i didn't achieve any personal goals, nor do i have a sudden awakening about the purpose of my life...BUT what i do have is happiness, calm, peace and a new perspective to life...all in a matter of 10 days...

and all beacause of a certain Sri Sri....

The rollercoaster ride we call "life"

Its amazing how your life can swing right from the bluest lows to the reddest highs.....all in the matter of a blink...its like someone up there is testing you...putting you at wits end....breaking you down to the brink of life's intense sadness.....and then finally, suddenly, marvelously surprising you with one Big Bang.....Just about when you are losing faith in every possible thing...shouting at yourself,"Dude, this life of yours is a complete loser!!!"....or worst case scenario "Why am I alive by the way?"....Its at those very moments that your life decides to take a u-turn, flip over , topple you up to some ecstatic sense of self achievement and sheer happiness.....I agree it doesn't take too long before the roller coaster dips into the slow-speed-gloom-mode again....But hey...its the hoola-hoops that actually make the roller coaster fun...rite??...So enjoy life for what it gives you...coz the slower you climb, the higher you reach and the faster you drop....oops!!..i mean the faster you progress...

(this Roller coaster-Life metaphor is getting a toll on me...I guess i better try the merry-go-round now....lol)
Cheers to life!!

By the way, Yeh kiski shadi par aye hain hum....???

What is that one word that gives jitters to most of us out there...whether married already, committed or single...
"marriage"
But well thats not what i'm gonna discuss here....What i believe that marriage is a solemn and sacred institution...a celebration of two uniting souls who pledge to spend the rest of their lives together...but these days its more like a celebration of the entire neighborhood...an unnecessary extravaganza including a ten thousand people...half of whom the bride and the groom don't even recognize!!!....The kind of moolah that we absolutely drain away in the name of a wedding might as well be put to some better use than spending 80% of it on people instead of the couple and the family. To me it feels as if we find a wedding an excuse to show off all our wealth in a span of 1 day. And as if that wasn't enough....a mere 5 hour wedding has transformed into week and fortnight-long sessions of food, drink and dance....all at the cost of the life long earnings of the families involved. The point I'm trying to make is...What is the use of this entire process??...Its not like if you have 5 functions before the wedding the couple will be blessed five times over...or is it ???...Its only the 6-7 hour "pheras" that would still be the defining moment...and trust me...no-one but the next of the kin is present there.....so why do we still bother gathering the crowd??
We, as Indians, have managed to find short cuts for every possible thing....But it seems that we simply love to sssttttttrrrreeeettttccccchhhh our Weddings....
Someday...maybe....We all will wake up to sensibilty, practicality and the sacred and cultural vaule of the "Big Fat Indain Wedding" legacy.

DISCLAIMER: For all those getting married within the next few months, Please DO NOT change your preset wedding plans after reading this, lest your parents(who have already funded the entire program) find out the cause of your sudden awakening and plan to kill me!!!!
lol....

rihanna aunty says...."please dont stop the music"

ahhh....music.....the lyrics, the harmony, the beats, the voice.......its food for the soul......its harmony for the ears.....its expression of the heart.....and solace for the mind!!...Has anyone imagined a life without music....i don't think I can....n i don't mean just songs...i mean the music which our life is composed of...from the rustle of the wind to the clatter of the keyboard keys....everything has a peculiar kinda feel to it..life would be dull without music is an understatement...i think it wouldn't exist....i'm sure everyone of us..no matter how bad we sing...have atleast once found ourselves humming some tune....be it conciously or unconciously......when i'm happy i sing...when i'm sad i sing....and mind you...i'm a really bad singer(and no i'm not being modest).....
i study with music playing in the background so i dont doze off...i work with music in my ears so i dont get bored....Music is such an essential that it almost comes right next the basics of life...don't agree???...try covering both your ears with your hands so that you dont hear a single sound...can u imagine a single day like that...let alone all your life??.....ofcourse not....
so hum along...and try finding music in the most unpleasant of sounds too..it might just help you handle the stress of life more easily....

Convenient LoVe

love;(noun)

  1. a deep and tender feeling of affection for or attachment or devotion to a person or persons
  2. an expression of one's love or affection
  3. a feeling of brotherhood and good will toward other people
  4. strong liking for or interest in something
  5. the object of such liking
  6. a strong, usually passionate, affection of one person for another.
  7. the person who is the object of such an affection; sweetheart; lover
Alright...that was how the dictionary describes the word "love"...a word that is so common these days that its almost underrated...and perhaps under-valued too......so when you say you love a particular Mr. X or Ms. Y, you say you love a song, you say you love a celebrity, you say you love your dog......Do you actually realize the value of that small four letter word which has changed the world???
Contrary to the age of secret love letters and shy poetic romances, we live in the cyber-savvy world of e-cards and Facebook....and so our "love" has also evolved into a more convenient form of emotion.......we tend to love everything from our college to our friends to our favorite singer.....and we are proud of the fact that we do...we have no hassles in proclaiming that we love that guy or gal or movie or song or whatever the heck man!! you might hate our guts for it...but we just LOVE to love stuff..........
And coming back to the convinience aspect of it........ we've shortened love to "luv" or simply "lv", kisses and hugs have evolved into "mwah"s and "xoxo"s or those fabulous smileys >:D< and :-* but hey shortening stuff doesnt mean we love any less.....
You want to propose a gal?....no need to go down on your knees....send an e-card instead...you want to hug a friend who's 10 miles away?......send a virtual hug on Fb....out of words and dont know what to say?......just 'xoxo' your frnz...!!!and there you go....what easier way to express yourself and spread all that love and joy.....
But yeah dont let that virtual reality overpower the actual thing...a silly love poem that you sing to your lover and a bear hug that you envelop your friend in are those few things which cannot be replaced whatsoever...And for all the shy ones out there who don't know how to go about saying that you love someone......no worries....SMS texts, Emoticons and Superpoke are to the rescue!.......I'm sure you're already finding that cute guy next door on your social networking site....lol....
Take care people....XOXO ;)

Barbeque yourself to extinction !!!

GLOBAL WARMING.....the term is so common these days that it seems like an inherent part of our 'modern' lives....but how many of us actually understand the intensity of the disaster that we are creating for ourselves and the generations to come???....sea levels rising..ice caps melting...polar bears dying...islands sinking...ya we all know its happening somewhere...but we don't make any effort to do something against it because we don't live on an island and the polar bears are not our kin....!!! WAKE UP PEOPLE....its not just that part of the world that's getting affected by the big hole that we've created in the ozone layer...its happening in every nook and cranny of the world....its almost October here in Northern India and not a sign of the slightest of winters...summer heat is increasing daily...so are the number of air conditioners...so is the amount of CO2 emission...which in turn is increasing the heat.....whoa!!...who's going to break this endless cycle of ozone depletion??.....we can't wait for a law to pass that tells us how much electricity and water to waste....these resources are extremely scarce...especially in a developing country like ours....its we who have to put a stop ...we who need to realize the gravity of the whole scenario and take steps to do our little bit for Mother Earth...switch off your cars at red signals....keep up your AC temperatures to 24 degrees celcius...Plant trees.......don't keep your LCDs on standby mode.....don't waste water....Reuse Reduce Recylce......DO SOMETHING....otherwise we'll all rot in this barbeque of a planet which we're making out of our beautiful earth....Believe me.....Its the small things that actually matter......!!!
